My wife had an operation involving removal of the thyroid at Northwick Park Hospital. The Consultant and nurses were great and helpful, however we experienced some repeated issues with coordination and communication between the various parties which led to my wife who just had an operation being distraught and very upset. Kenneth went out of his way to address the issue and assist us. He was understanding and was willing to run around beyond the call of duty to resolve the issue for us. His kind action compensated for the shortfalls experienced in the after care received at the Hospital and we are ever grateful. He is responsive, knowledgeable and use simple terms to explain what is a complex health issue. Keep up the good work and thank you so much.

Ken is one in a million, he isn't just someone who understands the type of Cancer or its treatment, he is also aware of what might be going on emotionally too. Having had two types of Cancer at the same time it is all too easy to thank the Surgeons for their work and forget others who have given care and support, thus I am writing my tribute to yet another person responsible for my recovery. For me the most important thing which we share is a sense of humour. Whereas one doesn't always share one's feelings or problems with friends or family, Ken is far enough removed from the problem to give a caring and sensible response. I'm very aware that his job is one very few could do as he has to take on board every patient's cares and woes. He should be acknowledged as a very special kind of person. However it is all too easy to make this a one way relationship with the patient doing all the taking and I have tried not to do this. Ken Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We met Kenneth when he talked us through mum's initial prognosis and helped us deal with it and what to do going forward. He has been with us throughout mum's treatment for over a year. He's been very patient and helpful with any and all questions we had. Whenever mum goes in for followup checkups he's always here to help us and always has a kind word for mum. We don't have enough words for what he has helped us though, but saying Thanks is the least we can do. Thank You Mr.Kenneth Day

I met Ken when he helped my wonderful Dad through the last few months of his life. Whilst we would see him at most visits, it was the support that he gave in the last few weeks that meant so much. Ken was there to listen, to guide, to offer the right advice and to make sure that whatever happened, we had a great support network. Ken made time for us, to listen to my Dad's wishes, to ensure that that was more important than anything else. He sat with us and went through the timeframe in detail, explained what 'end of life' actually meant and what we would need to do when that time drew near. There are no words that can show our appreciation and gratitude for having such a caring, compassionate person to help us at what was the saddest day of our lives. Thank you Ken, for everything. Best wishes, Manjit (proud d/o H.S.Panesar)
